Filingpoint DIN is an acronym for 'Director Identification Number', which is a unique director identifier that is issued by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA). DINs are mandatory for anyone who wants to become a company or LLP director. They are used to verify the identity of directors online and prevent fraud; they are also useful in reducing the amount of paperwork that is required for registration.
Applicants must submit proof of identity, address and date of birth in order to receive their DIN. They must also provide an affidavit declaring that they are Indian citizens and have permanent addresses in India. The ministry will review the application and notify the applicant whether they have been approved or rejected within one month.
Once a DIN is approved, the individual will need to update MCA's database with their personal details using the e-form DIR 3 KYC. Failure to do so will result in the DIN being deactivated. If the individual is unsure how to complete the form or if they have missed their filing deadline, they can contact our team for assistance.
If a person's DIN is deactivated, they will need to submit an omitted e-form DIR-3 KYC and pay a penalty fee of Rs. 5,000 in order to reactivate it. To do so, they will need to log in to their MCA 21 portal and follow the online e-filing process. If the omitted e-form is not submitted by the due date, MCA will mark the DIN as 'Deactivated due to non-filing of DIR-3 KYC' on their website.
